3 day meal plan during flare-up

The following is a sample meal plan that can be followed during flare-ups. It is important to eat a low residual diet that is easy to digest with low insoluble fibre. Avoid gassy foods, legumes, nuts, seeds, oily, spicy, and raw foods that may irritate the system. Once bleeding and symptoms subside, foods can be re-introduced one at a time to see if symptoms reoccur. Use a food journal to keep track of bowel movement, mood and problem foods. This will help you figure out and create your list of "SAFE" foods.
